Radio Show

When Dale Martin and Andrea Todaro met on The Joan Graci Show in June, 2010, Andrea was a guest promoting the event “Buffalo Niagara Homecoming Citybration” and Dale was one of the radio personalities. They recognized an immediate “kindred spirit” connection…an unmistakable professional chemistry both on and off the air. This included a mission to passionately serve and improve the local business climate by helping companies create jobs and hire skilled workers, develop and enhance business partnerships, and showcase the accomplishments of local companies and job seekers in Western New York. The desire, while business-minded and strategic in its intent, had a philanthropic and humanitarian feel to it.

The Joan Graci Show, hosted by APA Solutions, served as a model for our show and demonstrates how “Buffalo Works” it just works differently. Joan Graci, President of APA Solutions and her Managing Partner Jean Szulc-Filipiak, hosted a highly successful, prominent business talk show for several years that provided a candid view of the “new normal economy”. The show featured growth oriented companies in a multitude of industries and spoke directly with employers who shared their successes and opportunities.

The show WNY@Work is similar in its focus and designed to feature business experts and community leaders who are committed to creating growth in both the public and private job sectors of WNY. Our mission is to develop an ongoing positive dialogue about WNY in terms of jobs, collaboration with both non-profit and for-profit companies, government agencies, colleges and job seekers alike. While understanding the challenges of our local business climate as well as those of the broader national and world economies, we always strive to keep our dialogue inspiring, anecdotal, collaborative and solution-driven. We try to feature what is working and if it isn’t, we work toward solutions that make sense.

To date, our guests have included Mayor Byron Brown, Matt Enstice, President of the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus (BNMC), Beth O’Keiffe, Business Development Officer and John Cappellino, Executive VP of the ECIDA, Brett O’Neil, Public Relations Manager for the TSA at the Buffalo Niagara Airport, John Howell, President and Chief Creative Officer of NxTarrow Corp., Danny Hanssel, Social Media Expert, Paul Fanara, President of Aspire Technology Solutions, The Brothers of Mercy, former Senator Antoine Thompson and many others from diverse business sectors. There is no fee to be on our show; however, we always welcome sponsors and companiesinterested in purchasing advertising, as it helps offset our program costs.

Our radio show “The Dale Martin Jobs and Business Report - with Co-Host Andrea Todaro” airs each Sunday from 10 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. on WWKB, 1520 AM in Buffalo, NY. We are located at 500 Corporate Pkwy, Suite 200 Amherst, New York 14226.

Our motto is, “WNY does work, it just works differently.”

We have recently expanded our radio show to introduce a variety of networking opportunities for business professionals:

  • The “WNY@Work” Business Tour – on a monthly basis, we conduct a tour of a local company that is currently in the process of major expansion in terms of hiring, incorporating progressive business practices and showcasing why it is one of the best places to work in WNY.  We invite local job seekers and business professionals to participate in the tour and have an average turn-out of 30 people.  The tour is followed by refreshments and a networking social hour.
  •  The “WNY@Work” Business Gala – we are in the process of organizing an annual business gala to honor all guests featured on our show for their social and economic contributions to the community. This is a “black tie” awards ceremony followed by live entertainment and networking. More to come soon!
  • The “WNY@Work’ CEO Roundtable Discussions – we will host a bi-annual networking event for bringing together like-minded executives from specific industries to discuss common business practices, opportunities, local and national trends, problems and solutions to maintain a competitive business edge.
